A Note from Our President

Surviving extreme poverty and famine in one of the most destitute places on earth taught me how to best help those who are still in it. My family and I had to drink dirty water to survive. Electricity and running water are still to come in my childhood village of Thyou. I hate poverty. I have been poor and I have also been blessed. This experience has uniquely shaped my life, and I felt God’s call to help people (like I once was) help themselves.

It has been my dream that someday poor children in all villages of Burkina Faso would have the opportunity to drink clean water, to read and write and most importantly, be change agents who will hep drive poverty out of their respective communities.

My dream has come true with Feeding Nations Through Education (FNTE). At FNTE we don’t just give; instead, we equip and train people on how to best profit from what we provide and pay-it-forward. Rather than giving them fish, we are to train them how to fish. I believe that helping them help themselves is sustainable and central to eradicating poverty in our current starving world. A goal such as this makes education a necessity for all. Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.” I concur and believe education is the key by which lasting development can be fostered.

I appreciate you taking the time to learn about Feeding Nations Through Education, and I invite you to partner with us in making a significant and lasting difference.

Thank you and God bless you,

Alfred K. Koala
